Spectral Imaging in India: Tara International Visits Videometer
On 8 and 9 October 2026 we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Bharatkumar M. Davda and Sweta Patel Davda from Tara International to our headquarters in Herlev, Denmark. Tara International, based in Vadodara, Gujarat, is Videometer’s sales partner in India and offers our multispectral imaging instruments to customers in India.
Two Days in Herlev
Over two fruitful days we discussed the growing market in India and the newest developments in Videometer’s spectral imaging technology. Tara International also told us about their customers in India, the challenges they meet in the market as our partner, and the review processes they go through to bring our spectral imaging instruments to their customers.
Spectral Imaging for Seed and Food Quality in India
Tara International offers the VideometerLab together with the VideometerLiq. In seed analysis, spectral imaging measures traits such as size, shape, color and texture and gives detailed information about the seed’s chemical composition, with the high throughput that large breeding programs need. Agricultural commodities like rice, sorghum, millet, and pulses are inspected automatically. A special basmati model has been developed. In food quality and food safety, it characterizes color, surface chemistry, texture, shape and size without touching the sample and with little or no sample preparation.
The VideometerLiq tests the shelf-life stability of liquid products such as dairy and can be changed into a VideometerLab in less than 5 minutes. Our instruments are also used in pharmaceutical quality control. Working closely with partners in each market is central to how we bring spectral imaging to laboratories, seed companies and food producers around the world.
