This page explains what this website stores on your device, what it does not, which content from other companies it can show, and how to change your mind. It covers the website at videometer.com. Videometer's web shop and customer portal are separate services with cookies of their own, which this page does not describe; each has its own policy on its own site.

What is a cookie?
A web cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie or simply a cookie, is a small piece of text that a web server sends to a user’s web browser when they visit a website. The browser stores this data locally on the user’s device (computer, smartphone, tablet) and sends it back to the server during future interactions on the website, enabling the website to retrieve information on the user’s preferences and actions.
Cookies set by this website
None. This website sets no cookies of its own: not for analytics, not for advertising, and not for remembering you between visits. There is no statistics tool and no tracking pixel on any page.
What the website stores instead
The banner that appears on your first visit asks whether we may show videos and maps hosted by other companies. Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage, which is a small store the browser keeps for each website you visit, so that you are not asked again on every page.

This item is never sent to us or to anyone else: it stays in your browser and is read only by the page you are looking at. Storing your own answer is necessary to honour it, so we do not ask for separate consent to keep it.
Content from other companies
Some pages show a video or a map that is hosted by another company. Until you allow it, the page shows a placeholder, usually a still picture, with a play button, and nothing is requested from that company. If you allow it, either on the banner or by pressing the play button, the video or map is loaded from the company that hosts it. That company then receives your IP address, the identification your browser sends about itself, the fact that the request came from videometer.com, and which video or map you opened, and it may store data of its own on your device under its own terms.

What Google does with what it collects is described in Google's privacy policy. The terms these services are provided under are YouTube's terms, the Google Maps terms and Google's terms of service. Google keeps servers outside the EU, so allowing a video or a map may mean data about your visit is processed outside Europe under the safeguards Google describes in that privacy policy.
Videos are loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, which YouTube calls its privacy enhanced mode. YouTube says a view in that mode is not used to personalise what you see on YouTube, nor the advertising shown to you elsewhere. It does not say that nothing is stored before you press play, so treat the player as being in contact with Google from the moment you allow it. Maps are loaded from Google Maps. Both are services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, which is the company responsible for these services for visitors in the EEA.
These third-party cookies are outside the control of Videometer. Providers may at any time change their terms of service, purpose and use of cookies.
Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your answer at any time with the button below. Withdrawing it clears the stored item and shows the banner again; a video or map that is already open on the page you are reading stays until you leave that page, and nothing further is loaded on any other page.
Withdrawing your answer does not delete anything YouTube or Google has already stored on your device. Your browser's own settings remove that, under site data or cookies for youtube-nocookie.com and google.com.
Refusing has no other effect on the website: every page, every form and every download works without it.
Links to other websites
The footer links to Videometer's pages on LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube, and pages link to partners, publications and suppliers. Following a link takes you to that website, which sets its own cookies under its own policy. Nothing is loaded from those websites while you are here.
The newsletter archives under /newsletters/ are old emails kept exactly as they were sent. Their markup points at images, typefaces and icons hosted by other companies, and this website's security policy stops your browser from fetching any of them.
Hosting
This website is served by Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and the address of each page you request, as any web host does, in order to deliver the page. If a connection to the website fails, your browser may send Cloudflare a short technical report of the failure. The contact forms are also handled by Cloudflare on our behalf: what you type into a form is stored in a Cloudflare database and emailed to mail@videometer.com. You can write to mail@videometer.com to ask for a copy of what you sent or for it to be deleted.
Changes to this page
This page was last updated on 5 September 2026, when the website moved to a new platform that sets no cookies. If what the website stores ever changes, this page changes with it.
