Videometer Visits EU Project Partners
Since 2020, Videometer has been a part of the DiTECT project. This project, funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, aims at enhancing and transforming food safety throughout the supply chain in Europe and China: from research to industrial entities, and food authorities. The Videometer visit was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and collaborate as part of the EU project!
In week 37 2021 (13 September-17 September) our CEO, Jens Michael Carstensen, and our CFO, Nette Schultz had the opportunity to visit two of the DiTECT partners: The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) and the Hellenic Agricultural Organization, Institute of Technology of Agricultural Products (HAO – ITAP).
The Videometer representatives visited the ELGO-DIMITRA laboratory, whose main activities revolve around research within food safety and quality, and technical consulting for the food industry.
During the Videometer visit, the partners discussed new possibilities for the implementation of technologies, such as spectral imaging and advanced machine learning, which can enhance not only the activities of the laboratory but food safety as a whole.
With the use of the VideometerLab, indeed, food safety processes are automated and reproducible, meaning that the results of quality inspection increase in accuracy and, hence, validity. The VideometerLab, therefore, represents a pinnacle technology in the insurance of food safety throughout the supply chain.
