Videometer Quarterly is here – June 2026 edition
The latest edition of Videometer Quarterly is out, and this month we are covering a lot of ground. From automated seed sorting and multispectral imaging workshops to liquid sample analysis and a closer look at one of our most useful software features, there is something for everyone working with spectral imaging and quality assessment.
Automating seed and grain sorting
Our top story this month looks at the VideometerLab SeedSorter, which combines spectral imaging and AI to support automated analysis and sorting of seeds and grains. By capturing spectral and visual data from individual seeds, the system helps identify differences in quality and purity that are difficult to assess manually, making quality control faster, more consistent, and better documented.
What else is in this edition
In our Industry News Roundup, we cover three application areas where spectral imaging is making an impact:
- Seafood: how spectral imaging and AI can support species identification, freshness assessment, and authenticity verification across the supply chain.
- Seeds and Grains: a recap of the ISTA workshop held in Rødvig, Denmark in May 2026, where participants explored multispectral imaging for seed determination and purity testing using the VideometerLab.
- Liquids: the VideometerLite+ Liq cradle add-on, which expands spectral imaging into liquid applications including dairy, beverages, and syrups.
Our Software Spotlight this month focuses on Pixel Clustering – a feature that groups pixels with similar spectral characteristics to help users identify patterns and areas of interest within a sample more easily.
Meet us at these events
We will be at the ISTA Annual Meeting in Calgary, Canada on June 22, and at Seed Meets Technology in Zwaagdijk-Oost, the Netherlands on September 22. Come and talk to us about spectral imaging and what it can do for your work.
