Meet us at Seed Meets Technology 2022

seed technology symposium

With years of experience in the field, Videometer now specializes in seed and grain imaging. Our expertise has developed over years in seed treatment, purity, germination, and more. We constantly seek new ways to further grow in this industry. Videometer believes in sharing know-how, hence this year we will be present again at Seed Meets Technology conference.

The Dutch conference is divided into workshops, symposiums, and live demonstrations of novel seed processing solutions. The conference is aimed at presenting new ways of improving the efficiency of seed testing using the latest technologies. With over 1500 participants, the event is set to have fruitful and important discussions that are crucial for the industry to evolve further.

Seed technology: does your digital seed germinate?

One of the three symposiums prepared for Seed meets Technology is Seeds Go Digital. This theme consists of 3 speakers who will focus on the digitalization of seed phenotyping and germination. Jens Michael Carstensen, Videometer’s CEO, was invited to conduct a lecture on Digital seeds: Does your digital seed germinate? Michael will present how seed analysis and testing can be digitalized to achieve the most effective and efficient results.

The physical and chemical properties of seeds change over time; hence it is viable to store them in digital formats. Spectral imaging allows to classify and, later, store them in seed databases. Thus, the seed traits can be then reanalyzed and compared with changes over time. The rich database is crucial for not only phenotyping knowledge but also for seed germination.

The symposium ‘’Seeds go digital’’ will take place on Tuesday, 27th of September, 13:30 -15.00.
