Dear {Name},

This year has been defined by the remarkable work of partners and clients across the globe. From laboratories, breeders, and researchers to production teams and innovators in every region, your commitment to quality and exploration has driven new achievements in spectral imaging and image processing technologies.

As the holidays approach, it’s a pleasure to look back on a year marked by international milestones: technology presented at events such as Euroseeds in Edinburgh, collaborations spanning continents, and worldwide projects.

Your expertise, trust, and shared vision have made 2025 a standout year in advancing how the world measures, understands, and protects its most valuable resources: seeds, grains, food, plants and more.

As we wrap up this year and look forward to an even more exciting one ahead, we want to thank you for being part of the Videometer community.

Safeguarding Global Seed Biodiversity

The VideometerLab is used by genebanks worldwide to protect biodiversity in the seed and grains field. Videometer aids genebanks by providing innovative technologies to better preserve seed genetic data. Seed descriptors provide a detailed characterization of samples in shape, texture, color, and more. This information can then be used to identify specific seed varieties, assess their genetic diversity, and track changes in their traits over time.

Through close partnerships and shared research efforts, we supported initiatives focused on preserving biodiversity, improving seed quality assessment, and advancing data-driven decision-making. Our instruments, software, and services play a key role in enabling genebanks to streamline their workflows, elevate analytical precision, and accelerate important conservation and breeding projects.

From Europe to Asia, Africa, and the Americas, we are proud to contribute to safeguarding the world’s genetic resources and empowering those who work tirelessly to protect them.

Product Suite

Seed Coats of different nuances captured with VideometerLab at constant illumination. No reflections from the illumination or surroundings. Low shading effect. Known illumination geometry and spectrum. Color information directly related to seed coat color/chemistry. Significantly lower within sample variation.

Food Integrity Throughout the Supply Chain

Spectral imaging reveals what traditional cameras cannot. Seed appearance, for example, varies greatly under uncontrolled lighting: gloss, shadows, and reflections distort true color. With Videometer’s standardized color illumination, users obtain accurate seed-coat color reflecting real biological and chemical properties, ensuring consistency across samples, seasons, and laboratories.

In the food industry, spectral imaging supports integrity monitoring at every stage:

• Incoming raw materials: detecting contaminants, spoilage, and authenticity issues

• Production: controlling process-induced degradation and quality variations

• Shelf life: tracking microbial stability and physico-chemical changes

Plant food chemistry becomes easier to analyze thanks to the optical fingerprints of metabolites such as pigments, polysaccharides, phenolics, terpenes, and lipids.

Videometer’s technology makes these complex chemical patterns visible, enabling more informed decisions in research, quality control, and product development.

Start Transforming with the New Transformation Builder

This year, we are excited to introduce the enhanced Transformation Builder, a major upgrade to one of our most widely used analytical tools. While the Transformation Builder has long supported advanced methods such as Normalized Canonical Discriminants (nCDA), nMahalanobis distance measures, PCA, and MNF transformations, the new version enhances the entire user experience.

The redesigned interface allows users to build, combine, and apply transformations with greater efficiency. Whether you're standardizing data, exploring variation, enhancing class separation, or preparing inputs for modeling, the new layout makes complex workflows easier to follow.

Make sure you have an active Service Level Agreement to download the latest Software release and try the new Transformation Builder out.
