Worldwide Collaborations

Videometer is a global business with partners that include expert researchers worldwide. This year, we engaged with many of our collaborators across the globe, sparking conversations about biodiversity preservation, food waste management, food safety and quality and more.

We collaborate with many of the world’s seed and grain genebanks, including, among others CIMMYT in Mexico, CIAT in Colombia, Africa Rice in Cote d’Ivoire, IITA in Nigeria and IRRI in the Philippines . In these centers, the VideometerLab instruments are used to scan and analyze samples to preserve genetic information and characterization data.

In 2023 we continued participating in international EU-funded projects such as TraceMyFish, DiTECT, AMUSE and Exchequer. These collaborations include research partners from across the globe, such as Cyprus, Czechia, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom and China for the development of instruments and systems for food quality and safety analysis. These partnerships allow us to gain expertise and knowledge from professionals with extensive experience in their field.

VideometerLab Product Suite

VideometerLab Product Suite Updates

We are proud to announce that we will be adding two new instruments to our VideometerLab product suite in 2024.
The VideometerLab product suite includes three instruments: the VideometerLab, the VideometerLab 500 and the VideometerLab 40. The VideometerLab with its 90x120 mm field-of-view and 30µm pixel size is the basis instrument.

The VideometerLab 500 is a VideometerLab instrument with a larger field-of-view of 500x250 mm and a pixel size of 120 µm. It can be used for bigger samples such as batches of potatoes, beets, apples or any products with a wide surface area to be measured. The system comprises of a soft close drawer, that easily feeds the device with samples. Furthermore, it optionally includes a smart beamer, projecting indication lights onto the products to rapidly measure which should be approved and which do not meet quality standards.

The VideometerLab 40, on the other hand, is an instrument developed for samples with a smaller surface area, such as powders or seeds sizing in-between 0.1 to 2.0 mm. It has a pixel size of 10 µm, which is 3 times smaller compared to the VideometerLab, aiding in the detection of even the smallest sample features. The instrument is typically used together with a smooth Autofeeder belt, so to be automatically and rapidly fed with the samples.
